Dear Nature

Dear Nature,

There are enormous ways in which you support me, inspire me, and connect me to myself. You have never failed to evoke a sense of awe in me in times of despair or euphoria. You have never failed to tell me that life is theatrical in thousands of beautiful ways. When I observe you, I let go of holding on to my ego. When I meet with you, I stop gripping on to my problems in a much less intense fashion.

At times, I reflect on how much we take your superpowers for granted; your superpower of healing us, your superpower of helping us, your superpower of us strengthening us, your superpower of shaping us, your superpower of breaking us. No other thing can ever substitute you. No other thing can ever belittle you. No other thing can ever compensate for the connection you have with me, with us.

For all the times I took you for granted, I apologize. For all the times I shut myself up when faced with problems, instead of seeking you out, I apologize. For all the times I forgot about the significance you have in my life, I apologize. For all the times I might have disrespected your wholesome energy, I apologize.

You make me whole and my life wholesome. When I contain you, I come to realize that life is beyond my mere existence. For your immersive, expansive, and protective presence in my life, I’m grateful.

Love,
Your Microcosm
